Restaurant Revitalization Fund Explained

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, signed into law on March 11, 2021, established the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) to provide funding to help restaurants, bars, and other eligible businesses. The Act appropriated $28.6 billion for the U.S. Small Business Association (“SBA”) to award funds. For more information, please see our RRF fact sheet.

Are you concerned that the program will run out of funding before your business receives a grant?

The National Restaurant Association estimates there was a $250 Billion loss in revenues among the restaurants, bars, and other food-related establishments due to the restrictions and operation limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This economic loss is ten times the amount of assistance offered by the RRF. As such, it is highly likely the request for grants will exceed the amount of funding provided.
